Personal

My name is Mrs. Britteny Ford, and I am a kindergarten teacher at LCS. I was born and raised in the Homestead area and am happy to be teaching here. Outside of the classroom, I am a library tutor and love to read. I like to spend time with my family, go out to dinner, and travel in my personal time. I look forward to working with parents and students to have a successful school year.

My Education and Professional Background

I am entering year 6 of teaching and have taught grades first and second. I attended Miami Dade College for my Associates's degree. I am thankful for Florida International Unversity and its programs. I have a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and a Masters's in Curriculum in instruction. I am ESOL and Reading endorsed. I am passionate about continuing my education and learning all I can as a teacher. I am currently pursuing a Specialist in Educational Leadership at Barry University.

My Educational Philosophy

I like to use a student-centered approach inside of my classroom. My students are in charge of their educational journey, and I am the facilitator. I want to ensure my students' emotional and intellectual well-being are being met inside of the classroom. My students are encouraged to apply their learning in real-world situations that will assist them in their daily lives throughout their educational journey.
