Welcome!

HI! My name is Laura Heeb. I have been teaching at Laura C. Saunders for over 12 years. I started out as a substitute teacher but luckily got hired as a first grade teacher. This is my first year teaching kindergarten where new experiences welcome me daily. I am learning a lot and love meeting many new little friends. My favorite pastimes are spending time with family, playing with my pets, gardening and putting together fun activities for my students.

My education and professional background

I am proud to say I have an Associates in Early Childhood Education from MDCC, a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from FIU and a Master’s degree in TESOL from Grand Canyon university. I worked as a preschool teacher 30 years ago then a stay-at-home mother and educator to my own children. I later went back to school to earn my certificate in elementary ed.

My Educational Philosophy

I believe that all children deserve an education that is well rounded, fulfilling and full of opportunities to explore and discover for themselves through play as well as hard work and above all to feel loved and appreciated.
